The pillow is large and very absorbing. The foam makes a crunch-squish sound when it is new which made the dog very nervous at first. After time and after encouragement by laying on it myself, the dog now will sleep on it all night.
The pillow also holds body heat as it molds, so in the summer, furry dogs may not like that. Adding an extra large sheet allowed the dog to nest a bit more with cooler air pockets but still get the support her arthritis needs.
